Xx-OTG-xX Dominates Qualifying

Xx-OTG-xX managed to outqualify his nearest rival in 2nd place by over a second. His blistering speed around the Albert Park configuration circut was eye catching to say the least. He easily headed the times in Q2 on a more harder set of compound tyres than his rivals. Bossman_Shaun12 will line up second on the grid. Pipmatt will complete the top three in his Williams.

Alimunir123 was also very impressive in his force india managing to score fourth place. Behind him was cherry2pie  and ourgranville with simular times.

It was a dissapointing day for Ballboy57, Williams F1 Mad and jwf197 as their laptimes were all over two seconds slower than OTG's benchmark time. sp4unicorn did not set a time.

Qualifying two saw F1PetrolHead eliminated in 11th, redjams22, LiamKalvatis and FPM8 in 12th, 13th and 14th places having not set a time due to disconnections.

An Interview With James Head

Obviously, at the current moment James Head should be very happy with himself. He is currently second in the drivers standings and has picked up a second and a third place due to his hard efforts. I decided to have a brief talk with him over Skype to see how he felt about his situation and his hopes from the future. Enjoy.

Q. So James, consistency has put you second in the championship, only 2 points behind Matt Orange. He's in a faster car. What can you do to beat those Mercs?

A. Yes! Honestly, I don't know.. I'll need a bit of luck in the upcoming race at China, but I'm quietly confident.

Q. So how was the race today?

A. The race was pretty good to be fair! Glad to get my first podium of the season! The car felt good.

Q. Finally, China is next. What do you hope for there?

A. I'm hoping to get another podium in China, and try and start mounting my title challenge.

Willows Wins His First Race In Malaysia

Joseph Willows was the overall victor for todays Malaysian Grand Prix. He used his Mercedes AMG to win his first ever race in IF1C. On so many occasions last year he was runner up on the podium and the first race only produced 8th place and four points. But the win today has enlivened hopes of a championship challenge. Bobby Hunter finished second but was slightly unhappy and thought he could have won. "I'm very happy with the points and the pole but I was unlucky that I got damaged which lost me 5s then I lost 3s in traffic so without that I would have won but well done to Joe. He didn't deserve it" said Hunter after the race. Still, it was a crucial 18 points for him and for Red Bull. James Head finished a fine third place which puts him within three points of Orange for the championship lead.

Benny Pescheir crossed the line in 4th place on his debut race. Championship leader Matt Orange finished 5th behind some of his championship rivals. Malcolm Corbett finished 6th for Force India on his first race in the series. Matthew Drummer finished 7th for the sole McLaren. Connor Smith managed 8th in his Lotus. 9th belonged to Cameron Anderson whilst behind was his fellow team mate, Andy Graham. Shaun Grant and Wais Kuba retired from the race and scored no championship points.

Orange Wins In Australia

Matt Orange drove superbly to score a Grand Slam of scoring pole position, fastest lap and taking the win at Melbourne. The Mercedes car with that driver superbly controlled the race ahead of James Head for Williams. Adam Langdon scored a brilliant podium position for Force India, outperforming his car stunningly.

Another rookie, Matthew Drummer finished a superb fourth place for McLaren Honda, beating cars with much faster engines. Andy Graham finished fifth in his first ever race in the series and for Toro Rosso, beating defending drivers champion Oli Glazebrook. Cameron Anderson completed the race in seventh place which was also his first race. Joseph Willows finished a disappointing eighth place whilst Shaun Grand rounded up the field in ninth and last place in the sole Red Bull car.

The IF1C circus will move over to Sepang, Malaysia for the Malaysian Grand Prix.
